Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was a businesswoman, investor and speaker from the United States. The Corcoran Group, an NYC real estate brokerage was established by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran later left the company. Corcoran is one of ABC’s first Shark Tank investors. Since her inception she has appeared on every 12 season of Shark Tank. As of February 2020, she's signed 53 deals on the show, the largest being a $350,000 investment in 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was second in the family of 10 children who was born in Edgewater. Florence Corcoran's mom, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. Her father was constantly changing jobs throughout Corcoran's entire life. Her family frequently relied on free food deliveries from a local grocer. Corcoran recalls her father as someone who was drunk occasionally and did not treat her mother with respect. Corcoran struggled through her schooling before discovering that she had dyslexia. She attended an area Catholic elementary school, and then began the high school system at St. Cecilia High School in Englewood. Corcoran was absent from several classes in her first year before transferring to Leonia High School where she was a D student.
